The Opportunity
PRE-AWARD / CONTINGENT OPPORTUNITY: Polaris is building a qualified candidate bench for anticipated BAH-led NGA VERTEX positions. Employment, assignment, start date, and compensation are contingent on contract award, Polaris workshare, funding, final position availability, prime/customer approval, and completion of required security and onboarding actions.
Work Arrangement: Primarily on-site; Government-authorized ad hoc telework only
• NGA-W assignments may be located at Springfield, Chantilly, McLean, the Pentagon, Charlottesville, Virginia, or another approved NGA-W duty location, as directed by the Government.
• Primarily on-site. Telework may be authorized by the Government on an ad hoc basis after approval of the applicable telework plan; telework is not guaranteed and personnel must remain recallable to the duty site.
• Regular schedule is generally 40 hours per week. Crisis or emergency conditions may require temporary surge support, including weekend work. This is not a deployment position.
Clearance Requirement
Current Top Secret; SCI eligibility/access required for assignment
• Must possess a current Top-Secret clearance and be eligible for favorable NGA adjudication for SCI access. Active TS/SCI access is required before performing TS/SCI work. Additional accesses may be required by assignment.
• Personnel may be subject to a Counterintelligence-Scope Polygraph examination at NGA request.
What You’ll Work On
• Lead senior-level program and project management activities, including strategic plans, policies, SOPs, schedules, risks, resources, stakeholders, and delivery outcomes.
• Lead process improvement and re-engineering efforts to modernize governance, workflows, and business functions.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of metrics, data, organizational performance, and program outcomes and translate findings into executive recommendations.
• Develop executive briefings, talking points, white papers, strategic project plans, and other leadership decision products.
• Establish performance measures, monitor results, and recommend or implement performance-based improvements.
• Lead cross-functional working groups, facilitate senior stakeholder engagements, and represent the organization with IC/DoD partners as assigned.
• Mentor team members, strengthen analytical quality, and provide strategic direction in complex or ambiguous environments.
• Support SharePoint, data visualization, enterprise applications, UI/business-tool requirements, or other technical business functions as assigned.
• Apply practical AI/ML-enabled tools, where available and appropriate within NGA, to improve workflows, business processes, analysis, or performance measurement.
Required Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and at least 12 years of relevant experience in program management, GEOINT/IC operations, or cross-functional business analysis; or at least 15 years of relevant experience in lieu of the degree.
• Strong leadership and mentoring experience, including leading or directing diverse teams toward high-performance outcomes.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex strategies, data, metrics, and recommendations to senior leadership and external partners.
• Proven record managing large-scale, cross-functional projects or initiatives, including risk, resources, timelines, competing priorities, and stakeholder engagement.
• Demonstrated ability to translate complex information and data into strategic recommendations and evaluate the results of implemented strategies or improvements.
• Advanced proficiency with business applications used for presentations, written products, analysis, collaboration, and SharePoint-based sites.
Assignment-Specific Experience We Want to Identify
The VERTEX Business Analysis work role uses a broad base position description with assignment-specific requirements. You do not need every specialty below. Polaris will assess your strongest documented experience and align qualified candidates to the most defensible assignment.
• Strategy and strategic planning — multi-year plans, policy/guidance, performance metrics, executive decision support, strategic initiatives, or continuity-related planning.
• Mission Assurance / Integration — cross-functional integration, continuity, executive products, program metrics, stakeholder coordination, quality review, and continuous improvement.
• COOP / Readiness / Business Continuity — BPA/BIA, essential functions, continuity planning, alternate-site or reconstitution planning, readiness metrics, continuity tools, training, or compliance.
• Enterprise Risk / Resiliency — risk assessments, mitigation planning, POA&Ms, internal controls, resilience planning, risk forums, or executive risk recommendations.
• Test, Training & Exercise (TT&E) — continuity exercises, exercise design/execution, readiness validation, corrective actions, emergency notification systems, or agency-level TTX programs.
• Enterprise Applications — policies/processes, performance metrics, Tier-1 user support, requirements/backlogs, SOPs/user guides, change-management boards, UAT, training, or stakeholder communications; MET or comparable enterprise applications are relevant.
• Oversight / Compliance — organizational oversight, inspections/audits, Intelligence Oversight, Privacy/Civil Liberties, training, strategic implementation plans, findings analysis, remediation, or compliance programs.
• Process Improvement / Business Transformation — process analysis, workflow redesign, metrics, SOPs, change implementation, and measurable operational improvement.
Preferred Experience
• Experience supporting NGA, the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, or another complex federal mission environment.
• Experience with Tableau, Power BI, or other data-visualization tools.
• Relevant certifications such as PMP, ITIL, Six Sigma, CMMI, ISO-related credentials, FEMA continuity credentials, or comparable certifications when aligned to the assignment.
