Role Overview
Polaris is hiring an Information System Security Engineer (ISSE) to support the U.S. Army User Activity Monitoring mission at Fort Belvoir. You will work closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM), Information System Security Officer (ISSO), system administrators, and program leadership to strengthen security posture and advance Assessment and Authorization readiness through RMF documentation, STIG implementation support, and vulnerability management.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop, update, and organize RMF documentation and assessment artifacts to support authorization milestones.
  • Complete and maintain STIG checklists and coordinate remediation with system administrators to reduce findings.
  • Support vulnerability scanning activities and reporting, including analyzing results and maintaining POA&Ms.
  • Build and maintain templates, trackers, and process documentation to improve repeatability and leadership visibility.
  • Participate in the team cadence, including RMF working sessions, engineering scrums, and customer status briefings.
  • Track action items and coordinate next steps across stakeholders to keep compliance work moving.
What You’ll Bring (Required)
  • Experience supporting RMF-aligned cybersecurity compliance and security documentation deliverables.
  • Experience with STIG implementation and remediation coordination.
  • Experience supporting vulnerability management, including scan coordination and POA&M maintenance.
  • Strong coordination and communication skills across security leadership and technical teams.
  • Ability to work in a classified environment and comply with customer security policies.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain a CI polygraph after start, if required by the customer.

Nice to Have

  • ACAS experience.
  • SCAP scanning and analysis experience.
  • Familiarity with log analytics tools such as Splunk.
  • Experience maintaining compliance artifacts in SharePoint or similar controlled repositories.
