Personnel Security Specialist – Mid


Polaris Consulting Group, Inc. (PolarisGov) is seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and talented individual for the position of Personnel Security Specialist. The Personnel Security Specialist will provide technical expertise and interpret security policy guidance.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

· Serve in the Adjudicator or Sponsor role for the USAccess (HSPD-12) system in order to adjudicate or sponsor PIV card requests.

· Review and evaluate reports of investigation, security files, and other material and makes a recommendation to grant, deny, revoke, or suspend clearance eligibility for national security and public trust positions.

· Identify & mitigate potential security and suitability concerns as applicable.

· Assist with the preparation of adjudicative memoranda to include Statement of Reasons, Letter of Intent to Deny/Revoke, Warning and Final Determination letters.

· Assist with collecting and submitting documentation required for SCI nomination/adjudication.

· Initiate, review, and submit electronic background investigations to DCSA.

· Assist with clearance certifications and revalidations.

· Assist with Continuous Evaluation program requirements.

· Experience in the use of personnel security databases and clearance repositories to include

JPAS/JCAVS, CVS, PIPS, DISS, JVS, CATS, NBIS, and/or Scattered Castles

Requirement:

· Three (3) to five (5) years relevant security experience.

· HS diploma required - Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree preferred

· Experience with National Security, Suitability, or Due Process Adjudications OPM Essentials of Suitability Adjudication, Personnel Security Adjudication, or Due Process Adjudication certifications

· DNI Personnel Security Adjudications Course

· Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC)

Security Requirements:

· Final Top Secret personnel security clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)

Skills:

· Good Organization Skills

· Ability to resolve complaints and concerns

· Ability to use established procedures

· Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English

· Basic Computer Skills – Basic experience with Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Physical Requirements: This position requires employees to be willing and able to: sit, bend, reach, stoop, squat, stand, and walk.

Communication: Excellent customer service via phone and face to face conversation, excellent written and oral command of English.
